As <a href=\"https:\/\/www.macrumors.com\/2022\/09\/07\/applecare-updated-to-cover-unlimited-repairs\/\"><em>MacRumors<\/em> points out<\/a>, the service now covers \u201cunlimited repairs for accidental damage protection.\u201d According to an <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20220809033056\/https:\/\/www.apple.com\/support\/products\/iphone\/\">archived version of the AppleCare Plus page<\/a> from last month, you used to be limited to \u201ctwo incidents of accidental damage protection every 12 months.\u201d <\/p>\n<p id=\"LoCGi0\">Before you toss your phone in the air in celebration, though, do note that the service fees and deductibles are still around \u2014 a screen or back glass repair will cost $29, while \u201cother accidental damage\u201d will run you $99. Also, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.apple.com\/support\/products\/iphone\/\">Apple\u2019s fine print<\/a> clearly notes that the damage has to be caused by \u201cunexpected and unintentional events\u201d to fall under AppleCare Plus.<\/p>\n<div class=\"c-float-right\">\n<aside id=\"DiwEnx\"><q>Unlimited repairs aren\u2019t just for the iPhone 14 \u2014 they\u2019re for iPads, Macs, AirPods, and more<\/q><\/aside>\n<\/div>\n<p id=\"Vk2UWF\">The service itself is, perhaps a bit surprisingly, still the same price. (Though that was a recurring theme during Apple\u2019s event on Wednesday). Getting it for a brand-new iPhone 14 Pro will cost $9.99 a month or $199 for two years, the same price it used to cost to cover an iPhone 13 Pro. However, covering the iPhone 14 Plus does cost more than covering the regular iPhone 14 or the iPhone 13: it\u2019s $8.99 a month versus $7.99 a month \u2014 or an extra $30 if you buy the two-year plan.<\/p>\n<p id=\"yE8j37\">The upgrade to the service isn\u2019t just for the phones Apple announced on Wednesday. You can also get it for the iPhone 13 and iPhone 12, as well as for <em>the rest of Apple\u2019s lineup<\/em>. Yes, this will also have you covered if you keep accidentally sending your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2022\/9\/7\/23327631\/apple-airpods-pro-new-second-gen-specs-price-release-date-features\">AirPods<\/a> through the wash, knocking your iPad off the counter, breaking your watch in a fall, or sitting on your MacBook Pro. (It also applies to the Apple TV and HomePod Mini, but I\u2019m hard-pressed to imagine how you\u2019d break a device that mostly just sits around the house.) I wasn\u2019t able to find a single example of the price for coverage going up, though getting AppleCare Plus for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2022\/9\/7\/23323980\/apple-watch-ultra-specs-price-features-release-date\">the Apple Watch Ultra<\/a> does cost a little more than it does for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2022\/9\/7\/23313786\/apple-watch-series-8-specs-price-features-release-date\">the Series 8<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p id=\"GOQs84\">Apple didn\u2019t immediately respond to <em>The Verge<\/em>\u2019s request for comment on whether people who had bought AppleCare Plus in the past (say, when the iPhone 13 was first announced) would get unlimited repairs or would still be held to the twice-a-year limit.<\/p>\n<p id=\"2FC9LK\">One final important thing to note: if you get AppleCare Plus with theft and loss protection, replacements for stolen or misplaced iPhones are still limited to two per year.
