Diablo IV<\/em>, the next major release in Activision Blizzard\u2019s popular dungeon-crawling series, will be available in 2023, the company announced Sunday<\/a>. When it launches, it\u2019ll be available on PC, Xbox Series X \/ S, Xbox One, PS5, and PS4, and the game will have crossplay and cross-progression across all platforms. And as with previous Diablo<\/em> games there will be blood \u2014 a lot of it. Whole actual waves of blood.<\/p>\n
In addition to previously announced classes like the sorceress, barbarian, druid, and rogue, Activision Blizzard revealed the fifth playable class: Necromancer. \u201cFight with aggressive skeleton Warriors, fast-attacking Skirmishers, sword and board Defenders, or scythe-wielding Reapers,\u201d the company said in a press release. \u201cUnleash a litany of spells with Skeleton Mages, imbuing them with shadow, cold, and sacrificial magics. Deploy tanking Bone Golems, health-stealing Blood Golems, and charging Iron Golems. Or sacrifice them all to absorb their power.\u201d <\/p>\n
\n<\/iframe><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p id=\"id__4mcvd0l5xpj\">The news arrives on the heels of the release of the free-to-play <em>Diablo Immortal<\/em>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2022\/6\/1\/23150381\/diablo-immortal-preview-mobile-activision-blizzard\">which hit smartphones and PC earlier this month<\/a>. That game has received some scrutiny for how much it can cost <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rockpapershotgun.com\/weve-run-the-numbers-on-diablo-immortal-to-find-out-what-it-really-costs\">to get the best gear<\/a>. And <em>Diablo III<\/em>, which came out in 2012, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.polygon.com\/gaming\/2012\/5\/15\/3021754\/diablo-3-launch-the-bugs-the-errors-and-the-fixes\">had a rough launch of its own<\/a>. Hopefully, Activision Blizzard can avoid a similarly rocky release for <em>Diablo IV.<\/em><\/p>\n<p id=\"dlrBO1\"><em>Diablo IV<\/em> will be a \u201cfull price game\u201d that\u2019s \u201cbuilt strictly for PC \/ console audiences,\u201d <em>Diablo<\/em> global community lead <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PezRadar\/status\/1536053922875310080\">Adam Fletcher wrote on Twitter<\/a>. \u201cThe game is huge and there will be tons of content after launch for all players.
